Client Highlight: The University of Tokyo

Client Bio:

Hirofumi Seo is studying medicine at Faculty of Medicine, The University of Tokyo. He also enthusiastically works on Medical Animation and Illustration, leveraging his medical expertise and skills with 3D computer graphics software.

Last year, SEO was involved in the first case ever to involve 3DCG in the Japanese legal system involving a trial by jury (Jury trials were implemented in Japan in 2009). In that case, he created CG images based on the expert-written opinion following the judicial autopsy. Using the Zygote Male Anatomy Collection, SEO provided the jury members with easy-to-comprehend medical information for their judgment.

In the written opinion, the ultra-complex geometric positioning and special relationships of vessels, muscles, bones, and nerves had to be accurately portrayed, with victim trauma correctly depicted. The Zygote Human Models were an invaluable tool for explaining the opinion with accuracy and a certain level of realism.

Client Quote:

"In the field of forensic medicine, where accuracy is the prioritized factor above all else, simulating a corpse accurately with 3DCG is the greatest challenge. The Zygote Anatomy Collection is, of course, the finest-quality, complete collection, and at the same time it is developed with full consideration for ease of use in editing and animation. The Zygote Anatomy Models are a necessity for forensic medicine, and Zygote’s work leads the way into the future, connecting the medical community with 3DCG world."
