Swine flu, caused by human infection of a new strain of swine influenza virus A, H1N1, is at the center of global awareness. This 3D model of the influenza A, H1N1 virus includes geometry of: an envelope of surface antigen – hemagglutinin, the surface enzyme neuraminidase, lipid bi-layer, matrix protein, and an RNA core. Each element of the model is grouped for quick selection and easy application of materials.
This model is presented in two configurations enabling renders showing both a cut-away view and a complete intact model. These models are created with efficient geometry so that animators and illustrators can quickly build up scenes including many virus models without overloading their system with superfluous geometry, and a simple smooth routine will create geometry with resolution high enough for ultra-close-up renders.
