Hemoglobin Gas Exchange

In this image the process of oxygen transport from the alveolar lumen into the four sites on hemoglobin molecule in the red blood cell of a capillary is illustrated. This exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide occurs across the basement membrane and endothelial cell, as seen in the image.
