Veins of the Female Head and Neck
This image illustrates a lateral view of the right side of the female head and neck, as well as the skull, vertebral column, and upper thorax. The image represents venous flow of blood away from the head alongside the lymphatic system, and the following veins are identified:
- vena subclavia
- vena cava superior
- vena jugularis interna
- vena jugularis externa
The lymph nodes are located along the upper border of the clavicle, the lower border of the mandible in front of the ear, and behind the ear along the posterior border of the internal jugular vein through the neck.
